One Person Transported To Hospital After House Fire In Lequille.

Local News

On Saturday morning shortly before 930AM, Annapolis Royal Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house on fire in Lequille.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a small residential bungalow fully involved.

Firefighters faced multiple challenges, with cold tempatures and icy conditions along with getting access to the home. Crews stretched approximately 1,600 feet of hose for fire operations.

Due to the structure being so involved, crews began an exterior fire attack.

Mutual aid was also dispatched from Bridgetown, Lawrencetown, Bear River & Middleton Fire Departments.

Deputy Chief Alex Cranton with the Annapolis Royal Fire Department was able to confirm via phone that one resident was transported to hospital by EHS Paramedics.

Annapolis District RCMP and Nova Scotia Power were also on scene.

An excavator was also called in to assist with firefighting efforts. Crews were on scene for approximately 3 hours to fully extinguish the fire. The home is considered to be a total loss.

There is a Go Fund Me Page available for those who are looking to support the homeowner to get back on their feet.
