Wildfire Season Knocking for 2025

Community

Nova Scotia’s 2025 Wildfire Season starts in 5 days…

March & April are some of the busiest months for volunteer fire departments when it comes to grass and brush fires.

Ensuring you check before you burn is extremely important.

Depending on where you are located it is also important to check your municipal bylaws.

The Nova Scotia Wildfire Season spans from March 15th to October 15th!

Department of Natural Resources & Renewables updates their burning restrictions daily at 2 PM.

The burn map indicates if said day is a burn day, restricted, or is a no burn due to many contributing weather conditions.

Burning is NOT permitted between the hours of 8 am & 2 pm daily, regardless of weather.

The burn map also indicates which specific counties may be affected by restrictions, some areas may be allowed to burn, while others could be restricted.

Our friends over at Dahl Dispatch update Facebook posts daily in regards to the burning restrictions.

The link to the burn map is also accessible below ⤵️

Each year numerous fires are reported, grass, brush, woods and in most cases are a result of human activity.
