New Fire Truck to Serve the Town of Berwick

Community

The Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department recently acquired a new apparatus in December.

With some interesting features, its versatility allows for multiple purposes when responding to an emergency.

Its main purpose is to serve like a mini-pumper and brush truck. While also being available for other situations.

Its pump on board is rated for 400 gallons per minute and can hold 300 gallons of water.

This particular truck was manufactured by Lantz Truck Body Ltd. In Port Williams. In addition to its pump, it includes two, 200 foot hose reels with inch and three quarter lines.

There is also a turret with sprinkers on the front of the apparatus and joystick in the front cab for operation.

Three SCBA (Breathing Apparatus) packs are available with additional equipment for other emergencies, allowing for a quicker response. Also being able to transport 5 personnel inside the truck.

This particular apparatus does not require a higher class license, which will make for more efficient response times when necessary.

Congratulations Berwick on your new truck #51 and as always, great build Lantz.
